Air Marshal Sir David Allan Walker, KCVO OBE (born 14 July 1956) is a former senior RAF officer and current Master of the Household of the Royal Household.[1]
Walker was Equerry to HM The Queen, 1989-92.[1] In 1994, Walker served (on loan) with the South African Air Force.[1]
From 1997-1998, Walker was the Commanding Officer of RAF Halton.[1] He was appointed Director of Corporate Communications (RAF) in 1998, a role he held until 2002, when he was appointed as the Director of Personnel Policy (RAF) and of Personnel Training Policy until 2003.[1]
Walker was appointed Air Officer Commanding Training Group and Chief Executive Training Group Defence Agency, 2003-2004.[1]
From 2005, Sir David has been Master of the Household of the Royal Household.[1] In 2005, he was appointed an Extra Equerry to the Queen.[1]
Walker has served as the Vice-President of the Royal International Air Tattoo, and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Bakers since 1991.[1]
Sir David retired from active RAF service on 31 August 2011, in the rank of Air Marshal.[2]
Walker was appointed Member of the Royal Victorian Order (MVO) in 1992, Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1995,[1] and knighted as a Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (KCVO) in the 2011 Birthday Honours, being invested in a personal audience with The Queen on 13 July 2011.[3][4][5]
